Jim Caviezel is… Superman?!

According to super-comic scribe Mark Millar, Jim Caviezel is set to play Ka-El a.k.a. Clark Kent a.k.a. the title role in Bryan Singer’s Superman! Now this may just be another rumor, but it’s one of the stronger ones, especially since Singer got on board (he’s known to be very committed on projects) and Millar has talked about Singer working on the production before he was announced as the new director. Caviezel has been rumored for the part before - nearly two years ago - but back then the studios were still trying to decide on a director. Now, I always look for stupid, little connections in everything, and I have to say this seems like a pretty good lead: Millar has worked on a great comic about a modern-day Jesus story called Chosen and he’s written Superman stories before, including an awesome Elseworlds story called Superman: Red Son. These are signs I tell you! This rumor is going up against the last big one which was about Singer meeting with Eric Bana about the role. Pre-production is already underway as the story is said to start from the bottom-up. Braniac is considered to be the main villian, which I’m all for - he is also from an alien world and is more menacing than Luthor. Hmm.. hopefully it all works out, and there’s supposed to be a studio announcement of the film soon. But you gotta admit, Jim Caviezel is just racking up the roles. First he plays Jesus and then a year later, Superman!?! Dude, what other roles are left for him?!
Hey now, let’s not forget about “Frequency.” (I actually really enjoyed that movie)
