Updates

What the Wordpress?!

Had some tech-tech-technical difficulties with the site and decided to perform an upgrade and give it a facelift. Expect a full new site in a bit. Whee!

CANCEKO.com strikes back!

Where's Jer?

MAJOR overhaul over at CANCEKO.com. Check it out when you get a chance! Okay, I am off to Pinkberry. (No, Clara, I will not give up Pinkberry for Lent!)

Little Miss Sunshine

Where's Olive?

Go see this movie. That’s really all I have to say. ;)

E3 2006: Tuesday

Now you're playing with power!Hello hello! Had a pretty busy day! Woke up early and headed out to Hollywood to the Nintendo and Microsoft media briefings. Aw man.. both companies are really giving Sony a run for their money! I attended the Nintendo conference at the Kodak Theatre while Drackett went to Microsoft at the Mann/Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

Nintendo put on an amazing show (you can find “play-by-play” details at Gearcritech.com) and I have a small preview with the link below!

E3 2006: Monday

E3!So Drackett is here in SoCal visiting and we will be attending E3 and all the crazy video game festivities in LA. Picked up our badges today and checked out people setting up for the showfloor (opens Wednesday morning). Tomorrow we’re heading out to the Nintendo and Microsoft press conferences, and really can’t wait what happens- especially Nintendo! I am doing coverage for Gearcritech.com so be sure to check out that site for all the current schtuff. So until tomorrow, check out some pix of the LA Convention Center and the lobby setup!

Touch my DS!

CRUNCH!
Check out “Touch my DS” a fun little meme I found via Go Nintendo. Lots and lots of awesome Nintendo DS fan pr0n! I especially like the Evangelion action figure pic, if you come across it.

And this is my little addition to the meme. Yes folks, DS is like crack for me. Muahahaha!

DS Lite comparisons

Hmm.. this might just be as redundant as ever, but I always wanted to try my hand at one of those wacky “comparison photos.” Soo.. in celebration of my current favorite game system (sorry 360!) I decided to take some pictures of a Nintendo DS Lite with the original DS, and a personal favorite of mine, a multiscreen Game & Watch (in this case the classic Donkey Kong). Enjoy!

Canceko.com back online!

CANCEKO.com is back! Hmmm… kinda, sorta.. erf! I’ll be updating it more and then working on Cup-O-Robots after! Huzzah!

Under construction! RAWR!

The Bot with the Yellow Hat. Curious George is jealous.
That’s right kids! The site is yet again under heavy, heavy construction. Um, yeah and I haven’t posted an entry in two months. EEK! I am now back in California (pretty much permanently..!) so if any y’all around, gimme a holler, ya hear? I do miss NYC hella hella much. But I do have some good news! I just a saved bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico!

“A Giant in the Making”

Rawr!
1-Up.com has a new article on the upcoming PS2 game Shadow of the Colossus, complete with an interview with the lead artist and director of the game, Fumito Ueda. I like his game design philosophy and there are some fun facts about the game’s history. If anyone really feels lost at what I find so fascinating about this title, you really should check out Ueda’s precursor title, ICO. ICO was the first PS2 game I bought back in 2001 and I’ve played it frequently since then. It has one of my favorite art direction and character designs of any game and just the whole package is really something; it gives you an experience, and it’s nothing short of something like Zelda or Mario 64.

Anniversary, of well.. the last comic strip. Wha-huh?!

Robotize this!Hmm.. So I was really hoping of coming out with a new comic strip in celebration of the year-long “Coming back soon” delay, but I’m swamped with work - aiya! To update anyone who still keeps up with my posts (and not just grabbing my desktop art, but it’s cool and does give me traffic, haha), there IS something in the works - and it’s going to be something COMPLETELY new. Production is still early and moving slowly - right now I have a domain reserved, and some rough mockups. I’ll reveal more later on. Whee!

Serenity screenings in NYC

Firefly!

Two FREE screenings of Joss Whedon’s upcoming film Serenity will happen in NYC before the film’s official release date at the end of September.

1. Tuesday, September 20th, 6:00 PM at Loews’ Kips Bay, 570 Second Avenue at 32nd.
2. Tuesday, September 27th, 6:30 PM at Loews Lincoln Square, 1998 Broadway at 68th.

If you don’t know already, Serenity is the follow-up feature film to Whedon’s very entertaining and unique series Firefly - and like all awesome TV shows, it was prematurely cancelled (Wonderfalls, anyone? How about Freaks and Geeks?). So if you’re in the area and want to check out the film, give me a holler.. and I might even spare a Browncoat bracelet. Hehe. ;)

Design your own Converse All-Stars

All-Star!
Hmm.. I feel like this site has been out for a while - or maybe I’m getting confused with Vans’ customizing service - but it’s the first time I’m checking it out and it’s pretty keen. Even if hipsters across the globe have been personalizing their All-Stars for years. ;)

“Converse will let you customize your All-Stars in every way from different colors on each side down to the stitching.”

Black: IGN.com debuts first video preview

Black
IGN.com has the first video preview of EA’s highly-anticipated and long-awaited game, Black, for Xbox and PS2. Criterion Games (of the Burnout series) developed the game which will see a release in 2006. Looks pretty awesome even against the next-gen games. Along with Zelda for the ‘Cube, I can see how our current-gen systems still have plenty of juice in them for 2006. :)

Shadow of the Colossus battle footage

Masterbit Theater

So every few months I have an update about Shadow of the Colossus for the PS2. Here’s the latest! IGN.com has a new hi-res video of a full battle with one of the Colossus creatures. The game really looks amazing, and seems to be running a lot better than in previous demos. IGN uploaded another lo-res boss battle video earlier this month, which I believe you can access even if you’re not an IGN Insider member. While I’m pretty obsessed with Nintendogs - and hope to tryout Advance Wars DS at some point - Shadow of the Colossus is still my most anticipated game of the year. Especially with Zelda moving to 2006, boo-yah!

Shadow of the Colossus will be released on October 27 in the states. I’m sure to pick this one up, as I don’t know if I can spend $400+ dollars for an XBox 360. :P
