This interactive banner featured documentary-style video interviews with real dairy families. Each video covered a particular aspect about the dairy lifestyle.

Banner campaign for Real California Milk focusing on California dairy farms, of which 99% of them are family owned.

A film crew, put together by Deutsch and the California Milk Advisory Board, went out to meet actual California dairy families and documented their lifestyles. These banners incorporated video footage and photos from those experiences.

Shelfworthy: My Library

Screen captures of “My Library” from Shelfworthy. These were taken from the live site. All UI designs, icons and graphics were created by myself and Chris Drackett, who is also lead the programmer for the site.

Overview of “My Library”:

This is the heart of Shelfworthy. Every Shelfworthy member manages and updates their library shelves with all their media. Like a individual’s actual bookshelf, having this visual gives a good sense of what the member’s interests are and what he or she is like.

Shelfworthy: Messages

On Shelfworthy, whenever there is a typical site notification or a dreaded error message (we really try not to have many of those!), we decided it would be good to entertain the user with a fun, quirky illustration.

The recurring theme about the illustrations, is that they seem to be these little slices of life in this world of space explorers, aliens, and robots.

As of yet the characters have no names, there’s no actual story to compliment them, and there’s really no reason for connecting them with a shelf/media site, but they do give Shelfworthy a unique kind of personality and we hope that it adds another level of fun to the site.
