First there was Turtle-J. Now there is Cypher. He is like Bizarro to Superman. Tullece to Goku. Wario to Mario. Negaduck to Darkwing Duck. You get the picture.

Sketch of DC’s The Joker. Was just reading The Greatest Joker Stories Ever Told (1988), a trade I got nearly 20 years ago(!), when I was about 6, a little before Burton’s film. One of my favorite reads, it covers a lot of material about the Joker, from his first appearance to the Red Hood to the O’Neal, Adams, and Giordano era.
Anyways, the cover illustration for that trade was done by Brian Bolland, the best Joker artist, in my opinion. This sketch is mostly inspired by his Joker, but I cannot help but see parts of Paul Pope or Becky Cloonan as well…?!

2007, PITT pen, Tria, White-Out pen… Gotta love the white-out pens!
Inspired by artist Chris Appelhans… And my good friend, Susie Lee (she has a raincoat and boots just like the girl here!)

No, not Donna Troy. This one is a little more pensive.
