This was one of my favorite projects during my junior year. The project was the “Slam Poetry Poster” for Advanced Typography. Each student would find a poem or speech, and interpret it as a poster- as if the words were performed as slam poetry. These were monsters, with the final posters being around 8 feet high.

I chose “To: Nintendo” by Ishle Yi Park, the Poet Laureate of Queens, New York. I have not heard the poem as read by Ms. Park, so I took a recording of myself, as well as some of my friends, and based my design on our interpretations.
