UNICEF: LA Tap Project Site

In 2007, UNICEF started the “Tap Project” in New York City.

During a week-long event, restaurant patrons were asked to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free. All funds raised would support UNICEF’s efforts to bring clean and accessible water to millions of children around the world.

That $1 donation would be able to supply a child with 40 days worth of clean, safe drinking water.

Starting in 2008, UNICEF began to expand the program to over a dozen cities.

Each city was allowed to elaborate on the Tap Project identity, fine-tuning it specifically for that city and its culture. TBWA\CHIAT\DAY and TEQUILA\ handled the campaign and brought in artist Geoff Mcfetridge who designed the graphics and the “angel water drop” logo for all the LA Tap Project materials.
